Don Alberto Jumbo
Mr. Jumbo is 79 years old, married and the father of 9 sons who own and operate this farm as their main sustenance.
Cariamanga is a small tourist and cultural city in the southern part the Loja province located in the southern hemisphere in the Torrid Zone between 4º 9´ and 4º 33´ south latitude; and 79º 25´ and 79º 54´ west longitude.
Mr. Jumbo's property is located in the San Pedro commune 15 minutes from Cariamanga. It is at an altitude of 1,900 meters above sea level and an average temperature of 20 degrees Celsius, which is optimal for coffee cultivation.
This is a 3 hectare farm, seeded with coffee from the Caturra variety. The natural humidity benefits the post-harvest process and shadow is provided by the growth of native fruit trees such as: banana, orange, pineapple, yucca, guabo, luma, chirimoya and sugar cane; which are harvested between the coffee harvests. They also have native trees such as: Faique, banana and porotillo as shade trees. They also raise hens.
Its coffee production is of 5 QQ by hectare, the same that is sold to the stock center of Cafecom in Cariamanga.
